This album helped get me through the first few months of the stay at home orders due COVID-19. There was so much fear and uncertainty. In Abeyance the Devouring Flame was exactly the kind of music I needed. The tone is somber, the album's seeming minimalism it's surprisingly textured and dense. I remember one late night listening session I paused the album because I thought I heard a car alarm in my neighborhood. Nope. It was Acoxaca. I still hear something new when I listen to the album.
